Last fill up I purchased had water in the gas, car is now acting up, a little help?

I have a 96 Kia Sportage (awesome vehicle!), and my prior to this past fill up I received water along with my gas (Thanks Hess!) and this has now caused some issues with it stalling, having to drive two footed, especially when coming to a stop sign/light, I have never had problems with my Kia before this happened. A tune up is due soon to get ready for winter, but I have never had this much problems until I got that gas. I have put some dry gas in it after the notice of gas issues and that seemed to have worked somewhat. But it’s not good putting all those chemicals in a car. I checked my air filter, its clean. I know I have 2 oxygen sensors, plus the spark plugs to do as well as an oil change, all which I do myself. But is there something else I should look at while I am doing this tune up so that I can get the maximum performance from my vehicle again.
If you are going to knock my Kia don’t bother answering. Because despite the stuff you hear about Kia, it doesn’t pertain to mine, as it is a great little 4×4 suv!!! I love my Kia!
I already added Dry Gas to tank the next day it started acting up.

You may still have some issues with your bad gas incident.

First, I would change the fuel filter, no matter when the last time it was changed.

Add some gas line antifreeze to the fuel tank. In northern states in the USA there is a product called HEET. See the link below for an example of this product. This can usually be found at your local gas station, in automotive parts stores, or in the automotive department of most major department stores. There are more than one manufacturer of this item and one is as good as the other. HEET is mostly isopropyl alcohol. The alcohol mixes with the water and moisture in the fuel tank so it will mix with the gasoline and get burned. Follow the directions on the bottle.

My guess is that you are having issues with the fuel filter….

Tune the car up & change your fuel filter.
A good hint when a gas tanker is making a delivery at a station go to another gas station to fill up.
Because all the junk in the tanks at the 1st station are getting stured up when the tanker makes his drop.

Okay, lets assume that you got some water in there. Drygas as you call it is alcohol. Alcohol burns. Water does not. Alcohol mixes with water in multiple proportions. Gas will not mix with water so the 2 are totally seperate. Now your car does not care whether it is gasoline, nitro, alcohol, or terpentine….just so long as it burns. Some burn better than others – In this case alcohol burns and it mixes with the water taking the water with it. So it will burn “colder” but it will be eliminated from the tank. And you really don’t care whether the engine burns a couple of degrees colder-you are not doing it for scientific purposes…you just want the water out. This is a way to extract the water.

The other way is to remove the gas tank and pour the fuel and water out onto the ground and then dry out the tank and then reinstall it back into the car.

Same results. Just a heck of alot more work. So using the gas treatment to rid water out of the tank will not harm anything mechanical.
Heck, if that were the case, then you better give up drinking and smoking because it can harm your health too.
But in little bits, who is gonna notice?
